Doug,

SPOT 3 failed because of progressive multiple gyro failure.  The Sagem =
manufactured gyros are similar to those used on the SAX mission which I =
had an involvement with, which also has also suffered gyro failures.

Dear Tristan,


If it ain't one by now it should be one.  General electrical failure =
(methinks a solar panel connection) caused it to die.  Without any =
command or control, it will just drift however and wherever nature's =
forces push it.
