NASA's JPL has a good site on the basics of space flight at:
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/basics/

Although much of it deals with interplanetary missions there are good sections
on orbital dynamics. It's written in layman's terms. It may be downloaded in
pdf format so you'll need to have the Adode Acrobat reader installed on your
PC. The link that will take you directly to the pdf file and to the Acrobat
Reader download site is:
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/basics/bsf0.htm#paper

Cheers.
