Pierre Neirinck reports USA 129 on-time at 20:22 UTC, 19 April 2000. So, whatever caused Jim Nix to miss it last night, it was not a manoeuvre. I suspect it was simply unusually faint. I had a similar experience with this object last week. Since USA 129's perigee is now more than 10 deg away from the equator, I am growing more confident that the manoeuvre will occur when USA 116's perigee reaches the equator, on 26 April UTC, plus or minus perhaps one day. However, until this theory is proven, we have to assume that the manoeuvre could occur any day, so the alert continues. The additional tracking and orbit analysis until then, will provide an excellent basis to help understand the eventual manoeuvre.
