    Here's my breathless report of the first NOAA 11 double flare 
    that I saw, in October 1997:

    In July 1999 I saw three NOAA 11 flare events and got to 
    thinking that they are probably predictable:

    Later I think I was looking for them every eighth night, but
    that hypothesis didn't hold up for long at all.
