16-bit software in W10 or W8 (re: Sky map, windows 10)

Skymap (and ten other programs I need) use 16-bit code, and can not run in
W8 or W10.
But I found the DOSBOX environment to be excellent - it will even run
skymap faster, especially graphics, if you increase simulation speed to max
at startup. And it can show full screen, and save screenshots.

You need to designate a working directory for startup, then you can run (a
.bat file in that directory with) MOUNT commands for other folders you
need. (It will not find files created after mounting?)

(There is another 64-bit emulator which worked, probably vDos. But my new
system refuses to boot, so I can't easily find its name.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdos/ ?)

Here are extensive discussions, including advanced alternatives :

Does anyone know if Rob Matson's SKY MAP can work on a Windows 10
computer?
