I'm afraid both Philip and Igor are wrong this time - PVO and PVP are sometimes known as Pioneer 12 and Pioneer 13. However, I'm not sure this was ever an official NASA designation - I haven't seen it in any primary source materials. Mariner 11 and 12 also never happened - those probes were renamed Voyager 1 and 2 before launch. Jonathan McDowell
