Just saw Cosmos 2342 r in twilight. Passed one degree over the crescent moon, pretty neat sight in the 10x50 binoculars. Really zipping along, the thing wasted no time getting outta here! Did not time its passage precisely but it was within a minute of schedule and the track was right on. It was about mag 1 or so, steady. Looked for a sign of redness to indicate frictional heating, saw none; white in color. Thanks to Alan Pickup for providing the elements. Wouldn't have seen it without them. _____________________________________________________________ Jim Varney 121.398 W, 38.458 N, 8m Sacramento, Calif.
