I forgot about it until I noticed Mir was scheduled >to make multiple passes for several nights. It wasn't easy to stay up, but I >saw 3 and 4 passes on different nights. Haze and trees got in the way of >seeing more. Finally, on July 31, the skies cleared, the moon was gone, and I >saw 5 passes of the same satellite, Mir, during the course of 1 evening. Has >anyone else tried this? Yes. On the night of June 11/12, 1980, myself and two friends saw 5 passes of Centaur 2 (#00694 ). That was the only time we saw it 5 times, but we did have several other nights of multiple passes (2-4) seen in a night. Henry Eikel Metairie, LA 30.00N 90.18W
