Hi everybody, I agree totally with Philip Chien. The posts that got me started in sat observing were routine obs or purely descriptive ones. Once I knew what I could observe and how it looked like then I got into positional observations that are more challenging but can be useful for many people on this list. I still read all the "I saw Mir" type posts in case there would be a line or a word that could give me valuable info as for the brightness or behaviour of a specific object as I also collect all the positional reports (like Eberst's) for future reference, for example, when I'm not sure if I saw the right satellite. -- Daniel Deak St-Bonaventure, Québec COSPAR site 1745 : 45.9483°N, 72.6539°W, 58 m., UTC-4:00 E-mail : dan.deak@sympatico.ca French-language satellite web site : http://www3.sympatico.ca/dan.deak/
