The one orbit delay in landing caused STS-105 to pass just south of Houston.
At 12:08 its closest approach was attempted to be viewed by dozens of my
colleagues; however, as expected, nobody actually saw it. The sun was almost
overhead and the sky quite bright. However, at 12:12UT we heard the double
    sonic boom.
