On the evening of Aug. 5 PDT, there were mag 1 passes by 25860 Okean-O & 21701 UARS. Nice to see these two old favorites. High passes in the E and in the SW respectively. On the evening of Aug. 8 PDT, my mother-in-law spotted a bright sat, 14064 Cosmos 1461, near mag 0 on a zenith pass into the NNE. Predicted mag 4.1 from mccants.tle, so that was a substantial brightening. A few minutes later I spotted 02481 Midas 9 flaring to about mag 2, some 2 deg below & 4 deg right of eps Peg, near the end of a long pass across the E sky. Predicted mag 8.4 from mccants.tle, so that was a good flare. On the evening of Aug. 9 PDT, I enjoyed a high NE pass of 27006 Meteor 3M r; complex flash pattern, as others have noticed.
