Just after seeing a nice Perseid pass thru Ursa Major i spotted a couple of bright flashes below the Big Dipper. At first i thought it was an aircraft since i live on a major air route to the Orient however there were just a couple of flashes, mag est -4 then nothing followed a short time later by a couple more bright flashes, still in the negative magnitude. Plus the object was heading due South so i knew it was a sat and not an a/c. At 06:05:55 12 Aug UTC +/-5 sec it passed a couple of degrees above (E) Arcturus. I was easily able to ID it as Iridium 914tum #24836 97030A. Then a few minutes later at 06:09:xx i watched ENVISAT #27386 02009A flare to mag 1 as it travelled along the handle of the Big Dipper. It's distinctive orange tint gave it away.
