As per my obs of an unknown flasher at 05:48 14 Aug UTC during a pass by Cosmos 1697 r #16182 85097B and Cosmos 1980 r #19650 88102B, i looked for them again. Although not timed i looked at the predicted time of 05:17:20 16 Aug UTC just above (E) of Alkaid in Ursa Major and saw Cosmos 1697 r, dim as per my last obs of it. Cosmos 1980 r was due at 05:18:40 approx 5 deg above Alkaid and since my 10x50s have a 5.5deg FOV i moved them up about 5 deg and started scanning at 05:18:05 +/- 3 sec (i checked my watch). About 10-15 sec later i picked up a faint object in the right area but this one was flashing. My previous obs of Cosmos 1980 r had it bright and steady. I followed this object and it was headed to the NW, at times giving an est mag 4 flash but being invisible most of the time. During one of those periods of not seeing it i quickly scanned around it's projected path and saw a bright flash from it near either Merak or Dubhe at 05:20:20 +/- 3 sec. I couldn't be sure of which star it was or i may have caught a quick glimpse of the star at the edge of the FOV when i was looking around but from my estimates the object was headed NW, approx Az 340 deg. I tried to look for 1x flashes from it once i lost it but no luck. I then scanned North and saw a bright Cosmos 1980 r where it should be however i did not see it prior to this faint flashing unk. As before nothing seems to match.
