    Notes:

    (1) TIPS - 96-029F
18:25:51.3 gave two positions - first one being top mass and second
                   one being lower mass
18:27:43.6 position of top mass - bright slow flash
18:29:38.0 position of bottom mass - slow flash
18:30:08.7 position of top mass - star occultation

TIPS was quite easy and could see the connecting tether for most of
the transit. Was interesting to see how the masses changed brightness
but could not detect an obvious pattern

    (2) The new ccd camera is a big improvement on the previous one and no
trouble seeing stars down to at least magnitude +9 despite my city
lit sky. The satellite limit appears to be around magnitude +8.5

    (3) I have a few more positions to report which I will do tomorrow-Ive
been at this most of the day and my eyes are seeing double etc!

    Cheers
    Greg
