I'd had Venus & Saturn encounters predicted also, but on different days, and at only about 10° elevation- you were rather lucky to have the ISS nearly draw an arc between the 2 planets! I got an update from the MCC Friday, but there was no corresponding update to the SVPOST.html page, so I didn't generate new reports: * ISS is currently in LVLH attitude mode. * ReBoost #2 is currently scheduled to occur on August 26. USSPACECOM TWO LINE MEAN ELEMENT SET Current ISS - Post ReBoost #1 1 25544U 98067A 04233.48945204 .00013499 00000-0 11213-3 0 9557 2 25544 51.6323 357.4630 0008185 117.5236 242.6758 15.70277963 8422 The Saturn encounter time should have been about day-of-year 235.40954; the earliest OIG TLE that I can retrieve right now is: 1 25544U 98067A 04235.55862269 .00020882 00000-0 17158-3 0 5044 2 25544 51.6338 346.8943 0008001 122.0645 63.3642 15.70367370328741 I'd be interested to know how the MCC TLE compares in accuracy with that OIG TLE, as nearly as you can tell- and with the accuracy of the report I generated Thursday. I'd think that OIG's ultimate source of the ISS's orbit is USSPACECOM; evidently the MCC gets orbit data from the Russians sometimes, and USSPACECOM at other times. The report I generated Thursday would have used the following TLE: 1 25544U 98067A 04235.08033384 .00020000 00000-0 20000-3 0 9035 2 25544 51.6343 349.3397 0007690 120.1211 240.0713 15.70424603 8672 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
