    Its quite common , during the southern summer when I can see it,
    a flare to magnitude -1 often happens when the satellite is around
    the SSW direction, though the brightest flare was as bright as a
    mag -8 iridium flare, from a range of just over 1000Km.
    Nobody has to my knowledge formulated a predictive model.
