I observed a pass of lacrosse 5 tonight. unfortunately, civil twilight had just ended when the pass began. I did not acquire the object visually until it had just passed between alkaid and mizar, at approximately 01:43:03 UTC 4 aug.; I tracked it with my eyes for approximately 2 minutes, but it disappeared into a lighter section of the sky (fading slowly) to the north-northeast. due to the twilight I cannot conclude whether or not it did its disappearing (or re-appearing?) act during this pass. I can only say that from the above stated time until 2 minutes hence it stayed a steady brightness. clear skies! stephan szyman chicago IL USA 41.6840N, 87.7000W; 188 msl ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
