    Hi Gerhard and list,

The real MECO TLE should look like this (using VEC2TLE) :
    STS-118 MECO
    1 32003U 07034A 7220.94939815 .00014500 00000-0 95600-3 0 74
    2 32003 51.6312 191.4838 0132780 348.8017 68.9758 16.48551204 25

Indeed the shuttle won't be visible from Europe on its first orbit. Here in
North America we are more lucky. A first pass just after sunset may be
visible here in Quebec at 00:19 UTC (Aug. 9).Maritime provinces should have
better visibility (darker sky). Another pass will definitely be visible in
    Quebec at 01:53.

For North America, use this elset for the pass after the first orbit :
    STS-118 OMS-2
    1 32003U 07034A 07221.00124817 .00014500 00000-0 95600-4 0 9012
    2 32003 51.6316 191.1992 0066527 181.1277 178.9761 16.00540261 25

Use this one for the second pass (manoeuvre in between) :
    STS-118 NC1
    1 32003U 07034A 07221.12674025 .00014500 00000-0 95600-4 0 9027
    2 32003 51.6312 190.5357 0003251 256.3527 103.7280 15.84807740 40

    Objet : Shuttle Launch Elements

Haven't seen anybody mentioning it on this list yet but the planned orbit
elements for the upcoming shuttle launch are now posted on

    	spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/elements

As usual, the very first set of TLEs (the MECO elements) are wrong (but the
corresponding state vector elements are OK). No luck for visual observers in
Europe on the MECO arc though as the shuttle will be in shadow when passing
    over here.
