Thanks to Mike and Bjorn for their assistance. I spent time going over their suggestions trying to find some easily fixable problem. The good news is that my ANSI file was never the problem. Eventually I reinstalled the program in a different file but that did not fix the problem. So I installed the program on an Acer Netbook and voila....the program displays the map properly. So apparently it is likely an issue with my computer graphics hardware. It is a five year old Lenovo 3000J Series. AMD Athlon 2 processor. The display info is below. I am not sure if updating the drivers is possible or will help but that is worth checking. If anyone has any ideas relative to the apparent graphics problem, I will try to make changes in that area.
