Decay of Cosmos 1315

A n umber of reports have been coming to hand of what appear to be decay of
Cosmos 1315 over Hawaii at 0900 UTC.
However assuming these are correct (which appears likely) I noticed a
report of a "red ball" from close to where I was attempting to observe in
Wellington New Zealand but was hampered by cloud and tall buildings. The
observation was reported at 1012 UTC which is subsequent to the Hawaiian
decay reports but corresponds well to predictions for Wellington. So it
appears that some of the satellite may have remained for most of another
orbit and was at or near decay over Wellington.

The report as well as some from Hawaii can be read at
