Since the announcement, three weeks ago, of a new mailing list for people
interested in receiving radio signals from satellites, HearSat-L has grown
to 28 subscribers in 8 countries. Subscribers are mostly SeeSat-L
subscribers who enjoy watching satellites, but find our hobby difficult at
this time of year due to bad weather and/or early rising of the Earth's
shadow during winter in the northern hemisphere.

I listened to the Christmas message recorded by Mir crew member Thomas
Reiter as Mir passed over my station on Christmas Eve, it came in loud and
clear on my simple hand-held scanner. I have also listened to telemetry from
American and Russian weather and navigation satellites.

If you would like to join us please e-mail me at jcorby@headwaters.com.
