Saw Mir on 11 Dec 96 at 00:39:50 UT. Azimuth 220 degrees in
partial twilight.

Elevation was about 2.5-3 degrees . Easily seen in 7 x 50 binocs
and should have been seen lower had I not been verifying position.

Made a timing of 92- 12 B (4.88 sec) thne back to Mir. In the east was
almost as bright as Venus then passed the Pleiades before turning red
as it entered shadow.

Was surprised that it was that easy since my last attempt to view in
this location was during the summer, which i assumed was a better
phase angle.
