Back in town, reading SeeSat messages, I just remembered the 
problem with the "Earth Satellite Ephemeris Service":

It appears to be working right now (late on 30 Dec 1997 UTC).

(For new folks, it's an online predictions generator that can 
be of some use especially to those who don't want to get and 
use a program and orbital elements.  Note that the geographic
name server it lists in its online documentation is no longer
in service.)
