We also took advantage of the clear skies and saw Discovery at about
1999 Dec 22/23:07 UTC as it passed through Piscis Austrinus (sp?) and
Sculptor, appearing at about 4-1/2 magnitude. As others noted, it
seemed rather dim even for such a (for us) low-elevation pass.

Clear and dark skies!
