I picked up "Fundamentals of Astrodynamics" by Roger R. Bate- Dover 
Publications (448 pages) ISBN:0-486-60061-0 for slightly over US$11! 
from Borders here Singapore.

In it you will find relevant topics like how to determine orbit by 
visual observations ...and derivations of all the equations.

Just wonder whether anyone read this book also.
