Observer: Dennis Hennig, home Berlin "Christmas" Location Rasdorf abt. 51.88N 12.82E 50m asl 22.12.2000 ISS made a fine pass, max. elevation 87deg at 16.37.05UTC, distance 382km steady at max. about -0mag orange tint was obvious entered earth shadow near Jupiter Progress 1-4 not seen 23.12.2000 IRIDIUM 9 (tumbling) nice show, irregular flash-pattern after passing max. elevation (31deg) dir. West at 18.00.23UTC one flare better than Jupiter >-3mag ISS passed max. elevation 70deg at 17.09.41UTC steady at max. about -1mag orange tint was obvious entered earth shadow at 18.10UTC at 62deg el. very red coloured Progress 1-4 leading the station a few seconds flared at max. elevation (abt. 70deg) from invisible to +3mag and faded to abt. +5mag until it entered earth shadow I have seen IRIDIUM-9 and USA-129 a couple of times. There are much more flashing/tumbling objects. Would anybody be so kind to tell me more about tumbling IRIDIUMS and other bright flashers?
