STS-108 Launch Obs - Maryland

    Observing site:
    Carrs Mill Park, Howard County, Marlyand
    39.3181 N, 77.0542 W, 100mASL 
    
    I acquired the shuttle about 6 minutes after launch. It
    was about 0 mag.  By T+6.5 minutes it was about -2 mag
    with a contrail.  Since the shuttle was lit by the sun
    until T+ 7 minutes I was hoping for a trailing cloud
    but I saw none.  
    
    A few seconds after MECO I saw 2 or 3 bright flashes
    which I assumed was the flameout.  About 30 second
    after MECO there were several flashes which I assumed
    was the main fuel tank being jettisoned.
