Dear SeeSaters, Those of you near the US East coast within about a degree of 40 degrees latitude should be able to see a fast perigee pass of 26362 (= 00-025C = GPS 2R-4 Delta 2 r2) this evening (i.e. 2001 December 28 at approximately 22:50 UTC). As these recent TLEs show: GPS 2R-4 Delta 2 r2 1 26362U 00025C 01361.19084398 .00100167 00000-0 23963-2 0 8998 2 26362 38.8504 294.4636 5352867 86.9908 330.0901 5.15186797 27092 this object's argument of perigee is about 90 degrees meaning it passes perigee at its northern apex (at 38.9 degrees North latitude). At my location, it should pass some 43 degrees above the southern horizon at about 1.4 degrees/second; those a bit south of here could see it appear higher and faster. While not as "quick" as the passes of 25054 and 26692 I mentioned in recent months, it should be quite fast nonetheless. Clear and dark skies and very best wishes for a Happy New Year!
