On Dec 20 a satellite called icesat will be launched into a approx 600 km 94
    degree inclination orbit.

The neat thing about this satellite is it has a 532 nm ( green light ) laser
on board. The laser pulses at 40 times a second. So while we observe
sunlight reflecting off the satellite, we should keep an eye out for that
    pulsing laser light.

It also has an infrared laser.
