Re: Popular Mechanics reports on declassification of TLEs

This has been in work for several years, long before SPD-3. It’s part of
the new SSA Sharing Strategy that was rolled out at least a couple years
ago.

For now, they have talked about two main efforts:
1) Publishing TLEs for acknowledged military satellites (such as WGS, AEHF,
MOUS, etc) and their associated debris objects
2) Moving many of the analyst satellites to the catalog

I would assume that many of the classified / unacknowledged satellites will
remain so, at least for a while longer.
