Hi All I've been working on a small deep space satellite observation system. This evening I was able to track OPS 6577 (VELA 5) [1458, 1965-058A] at a distance of over 109,000km. A 4" SCT at f/6.3 was used with a ZWO ASI 1600mm sensor. As you can see from this post it would be easy to reduce observations from this. I have not applied any correction to the image, just raw sensor data. No flats, darks etc. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlchl7b5gxmd0jv/vela5.mp4?dl=0 Next step is trying for optical observations of Chang'e 5.
