It's getting a little hard to keep track of methods for obtaining high-resolution images of satellites using ground-based telescopes. I just came across another called "blind deconvolution" at http://www.ee.mtu.edu/faculty/schulz/research/blind_deconvolution.html The page has a nice restored .GIF of HST, as well as an MPEG movie showing the raw and restored images of Hubble.
