Last night the weather cleared and I could make some observations.
I saw two 'unknown' sats, that I could idendify later on by using Skymap
and the 8000 TLE-file from Mike McCants Homepage.
The first turned out to be 86- 19 BJ that I picked up while waiting for 79- 30 B. The
later was seen after I made my obs on this new flasher (at least for me).
The second turned out to be a known one: 94- 41 B; although I haven't seen it flashing
before with such a short period!
After identifing 86- 19 BJ I remembered an obs I made in january. On the 13th I was
looking for 66- 5 N and saw it flashing. Running Skymap with the EL.. and CS.. files
gave no other candidate. Russel Eberst reacted to my posting on SeeSat-L: the 66- 5 N
fragment had to be large to be as bright as I reported it. Remembering its flashperiod
of 2.94 seconds I wondered if it could have been the same as I saw last night: 86-19 BJ?
I ran skymap with Mike's big file and the pass of 66- 5 N as well 86- 19 BJ matched my
obs. As I have been unable to see 66- 5 N on several other occasions and saw it steady
on some obs, it is certain I saw 86- 19 BJ also on 970113.
