Hello everybody,
This morning I observed Russell Eberst's mystery object he named "Novnoss".
With David Brierley's orbital data, I created the following elset to be able to make
predictions :
Novnoss
1 26000U 99000A 99040.21206277 .00001460 0000-0 00000+0 0
2 26000 63.3534 80.0018 0322124 26.4779 333.1429 13.46151913
My observation is the following :
26000 99 000A 1745 G 19990216104022700 37 25 1116000+123800 38 S+080 07
Compared against the prediction, it was 36.9 sec late and 0.20° lower than the
predicted track.
I also tried to see NOSS 5, another unid, but it turned out negative at
-1.75/+3.25 min. There was a light haze and I could not see stars below mag 8
because of twilight. It was to pass 18 minutes after Novnoss low to the north.
Elset used : (derived from Brierley's data)
NOSS 5
1 14143U 83056C 99041.24642950 .00000040 00000-0 00000+0 0
2 14143 63.4180 159.2779 0438959 4.2805 356.1083 13.40374941
