Our mailboxes have been filling rapidly owing to the discussion of the
shuttle decay which is definitely on topic as it relates to observations of
this tragic event which are of great value and I doubt if there is any
    objection to that.

We appreciate your tolerance during this distressing time when we lost
people we admire so much and have observed as they pass by and virtually
    been on board through NASA-TV.

However the latest debate seems to be more appropriate to other forums
(fora?) so I think it is time to take action.

One positive note about this tragedy- though it would be better it had
happened another way- is that the public are now taking more interest in the
program and are likely to be more interested in observing - in recent times
satellites and shuttles were being taken for granted as things were regarded
by many as routine or overlooked altogether. I had already stirred up some
interest at my work before the tragedy and this interest has of course
    increased since.

    Robert.
