I learned Fortran in 1964, and wrote a prediction+elset correction program 1964-65. Some ten years ago I worked on a project with MS Fortran, but don't have the compiler any more. I saw an ad about Intel Fortran 8 as an extension to Microsoft Visual Studio .net.
Not cheap, but about half of other compilers ($500?)

I may yet do some Fortran programming - not from scratch, but if I find some valuable code that I can get permission to access.

BTW you can the prediction code for SGP/SGP4/SDP4 in Project Spacetrack Report by searching for the last two words.
