The use of fixed-width fonts (or not) will affect the display, but will not change the actual underlying column count. What is a more likely culprit is the use of HTML, either in the original email, or in the viewer. HTML will, by default, truncate consecutive, standard spaces down to a single space. The following bit leads me to believe that your mail client may be configured to use HTML email (or at least to display it that way). Can you disable that when viewing the email? > -------------- next part -------------- > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Of course, it could be something completely different, but I would at least try a plain-text mode to see if that helps you.
