Small world - I was on AF assignment working on the 1st Milstar bird before
it launched.
Biggest operational risk at the time was getting it in orbit on the new
Titan IVs.
No bad indeed on lasting this long...

On Feb 7 1994, the first milstar satellite was placed into orbit.
 
20 years later, it's still in service.
 
Not to bad, I got no electronics that old, that still work.
