Observations 25 Feb 2015
----------------------------

Cosatrak 1 (Computerised satellite Tracking System).

FLI ML8300M CCD camera with mechanical shutter + Trimble GPS

Used with 102mm aperture f/5 SKYWATCHER refractor, fitted with
home made focal reducer changing telescope focal length to 306.2mm
and thus an f/3.00 system.

Field of view increased from 123 x 93 arc minutes to 3.36 x 2.53
degrees.

Image scale used 14.53 arc seconds per pixel (4 binning) and
7.26 arc sec per pixel(2 binning)for high altitude satellites

All images processed automatically by APEX.

Site 0433 : Longitude 18.51294 deg East, Latitude -33.94058 deg,
Elevation 10 metres-situated in Pinelands (Cape Town),South Africa

NOTES:
-------
(1) Main purpose was to do a plane scan for USA 186 not seen
previous tracking season. Did a plane search from -10 to +22
minutes and not seen (terminated early because of too much
cloud). However when I came to measure #21809 I found the
telescope setting had been very poor, although okay for
#35951 so something odd going on and I cannot seem to trust
the telescope pointing so plane scan for USA 186 may have
been a little off target - not a problem with a wide angle
set-up but Im currently using a narrow field set-up :-((
So will have to repeat scan as soon as weather conditions
permit. At the present time I suspect confined to low elevations
     so error in elevation mechanics?

(2) Tracking abandoned as too much cloud.

Cheers
Greg
