The cold spell is still going strong, giving excellent transparancy,
though this evening only between occasional clouds. These observations
were obtained while testing a new lens, an OM Zuiko 55mm F/1.2. This
lens is a full stop faster than the OM Zuiko 50mm F/1.8 I usually use,
and allows me to pick up fainter satellites. It comes at the expense
of a slightly smaller field-of-view of 6.62deg x 4.86deg instead of
7.23deg x 5.31deg. This lens allowed me to confirm the NOSS 1 (D)
[08836/76038D] identification from last night while the satellite was
only at an elevation of 14 deg.
