Hello all, This is my introductory message to the SeeSat-L distribution list. I suppose I should begin with a brief summary of my interest in satellite tracking. I first started observing satellites in 1987 when I was assisting with meteor research in Florida. We routinely saw satellites towards dawn, and I was surprised at their visibility. At first, my observations were purely accidental; the first satellites each night were the signal that our night of meteor photography was nearing its close. Over the next year, I found one of W3IWI's prediction models and constructed a simple program, and I got elsets for about 20-30 objects from Kelso's BBS. Later, I developed a more sophisticated program based on the SGP model, which I presently use.
