Saw STS leading Mir by 30 seconds during a very low SW pass (elev. about 7 degrees). This was 20 seconds more than the latest elsets predicted, but difference was probably due to an OMS burn shortly before my pass, putting the shuttle into a lower orbit. The shuttle was also a couple of degrees lower than expected. Sky was too bright to see any sign of the Progress. Later saw very low pass in south of Soyuz TM-27, mag about 6.5 due to haze, on time and on track using previously posted elset. Will try to acquire Progress on another low Shuttle/Mir pass in about 10 minutes. Craig Cholar 3432P@VM1.CC.NPS.NAVY.MIL Marina, California 36 41 10.3N, 121 48 17.9W (36.6862, -121.8050) UTC -8
