Hi,

Very bright indeed but it didn't pass so close to Jupiter as seen here.  I
thought it was just slightly less bright than Jupiter but there wasn't too
much difference at its
peak brightness which was near culmination.  The altitude was about 204 km. at
culmination close to 01:30 UTC 4 Jan.1999 (3 Jan. local).
