    What you are referring to I believe is the solar panel from the Hubble
    Space Telescope that was removed doing the first servicing mission. It has
    since decayed.
    
    There is video (not shown in this TV show) of the space shuttle using its
    RCS thrusters to push it away from Hubble, its quite neat seeing it get
    hit by the shuttles RCS propellent...
