Sorry folks - in my haste I omitted some detail! And I meant Globalstar 59.

Here are the details of the observation

While observing the Perseus region I'm sure I noticed a flare in the corner
of my eye between 0 and -1 mag near alpha Persei.
The only real satellite possibility would be Globalstar 59 - which had a
visual magnitude of 5.4.

There is also the real possibility that my eyes are failing!

Date: Jan 2nd 2001
Time: 19:48 (maximum time difference + 1 minute)

Using alpha Persei as a marker the angular seperation was no more than 6
degrees.
