Russell Eberst observed 1987-027B 7 days and 11 days prior to Bill Mitchell's observation of his unknown. It was steady on both occasions. Russell has reported more than 150 positions for this object since 1989, and it was always steady except on a handful of occasions, during which the flash period was between 10 s and 60 s. Its brightness rarely exceeded mag 2, and only by a few tenths.
