While there is the ICESAT satellite, that has a 532 nm laser which fires 40
times a second and will launch soon, there is another one called CALIPSO
which will go up next year. It fires it 532 nm laser 20 times a second. It
going into a sun-synchronous 705 km circular orbit.
Time to get a low light video camera, and try to capture the very fast laser
pulse, while observing the icesat satellite :)
