While there is the ICESAT satellite, that has a 532 nm laser which fires 40 times a second and will launch soon, there is another one called CALIPSO which will go up next year. It fires it 532 nm laser 20 times a second. It going into a sun-synchronous 705 km circular orbit. Time to get a low light video camera, and try to capture the very fast laser pulse, while observing the icesat satellite :) Kevin Observing site # 1 Brockville, Ontario 44.6062 N 75.6910 W Observing Site #2 Located by Centre Lake 44.5985 N 75.8531 W _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ----------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe from SeeSat-L by sending a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@lists.satellite.eu.org http://www.satellite.eu.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
