Thank you everyone who replied to my message from yesterday morning. To explain. I have been using the SATRAK software since the early 1990s (!) but my last computer where it would run has now died. Because of changes in the distribution of SATRAK I cannot access a more up-to-date version. The computer that I now use for satellite number-crunching is using Windoze XP. Maybe that is why my attempt to download/install STK has failed miserably. This weekend I will spend some time going through the various suggestions which people have made. I am not looking for software that will tell me where in the sky a satellite will be, but over what latitude and longitude it is passing during a given time interval. I will post back here when I have done some experimentation, but I did not want those who have made suggestions to think that I am ignoring them! Anyone who wishes can e-mail me directly at phillipsclark1950_at_yahoo.com.
