Color of Lacrosse 3

I just started this hobby a short while ago after reading an article about
it in Astronomy Magazine.  Using the Orbitrak program for a Mac and the
Voyager 2 program I 've been successful in seeing some of the brighter
satellites.  Last night I saw Lacrosse 3 at around 11:38.  It moved From
the NW to the NE across the sky.  It seemed to have a reddish color.  Is
this possible?  If so how?  What kind of satellite is it?
