Observations Saturday Evening, July 18 (UT 19 July 1998)
05:49:16 UT Appulse of USA 129 with Eps Virginis. Mag about 6, observed in
binoculars. Elev. 30 deg.
05:53:27 Northbound Mag 2 satellite seen in Ursa Major, parallel to
Dipper's handle above Mizar. Believed to be Cosmos 1043 r,
predicted mag 4.3. Soon faded to about that mag, and
flickering. Passed through upper Bootes, then entered shadow
in Hercules.
05:57:05 Appulse of Resurs 1-4 r with Alpha Ophiuchi. Mag 2.
Slow-moving, steady, bright.
06:05:34 Appulse of ERS-2 with Vega, mag 4. Predicted mag 5.2.
